Percussionists are always building their own rigs. But electronics and samples get overwhelming fast, especially without a tech background. We’ve done the hard work to make it easier.
Performance-first means the standard is the performance, not the recording. A band director’s vision of a marimba performance is different from an orchestral virtuoso’s — and most tools in this space were built for the studio mindset: max velocity layers, max realism, max complexity. That’s exactly what overwhelms someone whose real goal is “sounds good from the stands, doesn’t crash.” Performance-first is knowing what’s worth perfecting and what isn’t, and making the right version for the job.
Performance Percussion is built by Vince Romanelli — a working percussionist who has stood on the field where the laptop wouldn’t power up, and built the software he wished was there.
